Minneapolis, Minnesota: Custom manufactured surgical tubes and rods with burr free custom slots, notches, cross-holes, multiple angles and other complex features are available from Marshall Manufacturing Company. Using high precision Wire EDM processes, Marshall creates surgical tool components that answer the need for next generation devices for minimally invasive cosmetic, orthopedic, cardiac, urological and vascular procedures.

With dimensional accuracy to ±0.0005 inch, Marshall’s CNC Wire EDM processes provide wide flexibility in creating tightly toleranced part features, yet are fast and cost effective in both small and large quantities.

Typical parts pictured show 0.187 inch diameter stainless steel rods and 0.125 inch diameter tubes with swaged tip and cross-holes as small as .015 inch, and holes with connecting slots and notched areas with specially textured surfaces. Custom points and tips are also available for these components. Custom 3D bending and contouring, threading, forming and grooving is also available.

Tube and rod diameters are available in sizes ranging from .064 to 1.250 inch. Lengths range from .064 inch and up. Materials include stainless steel, titanium, and other exotic metals.

Additional part features available: swaged ends larger or smaller, and swaged special shapes including point, chisel, hex, square, flare and double flare. A variety of hole configurations from round to special shapes at various angles are available.

Additional manufacturing processes include CNC Swiss machining, grinding, knurling, milling, stamping, broaching, burnishing, induction brazing and four types of finishing – heat treating, electro-polishing and plating to name a few. Parts are also available laser etched for part identification and/or part traceability.
