American Way AW 100 turning center is set up to machine customer supplied pintle shafts, which are used to regulate air flow in automotive fuel injection systems. On the plastic portion of this part, a skin cut of .010" is machined off of the profile, generating a finer surface finish and greater dimensional accuracy than can be achieved by injection molding.
